i got reminded...

one american guy is learning german. i was supposed to help him; not that i speak that good but well i am "helping" some people lately in learning german or at least i think i do. so we were looking atwich would be adrian ludwig richter - crossing the elbe at aussig; cause he needed to say something about it in german - primitive level - simple sentences. "one man is rowing", "one is shouting towards the bank",

"the women in the boat are worthless"...

O_O i go like: "what do you mean worthless?"... he: "well they are not doing anything... look... but i probably shouldn´t write that cause my teacher is a woman"

now this was not by far making some statements about the value of some piece of art, it was barely a description, maybe even not that, and yet... it reminded me of what/how i think usamericans are :( am i wrong?
